We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of our nursery properties as well as off site work to plant the trees, shrubs, and plants we sell.
Duties
- Perform regular lawn care tasks including mowing, trimming, and fertilizing to maintain healthy grass.
- Execute landscape maintenance duties such as planting flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Irrigate landscapes effectively to ensure proper hydration for plants and lawns.
- Build and maintain garden beds, ensuring they are free from weeds and pests.
- Supervise junior team members during landscaping projects to ensure quality work and adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct grounds keeping activities including leaf removal, snow removal, and debris clean-up.
- Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, identifying any issues that may require attention or treatment.
- Collaborate with clients to plant the items they have purchased at Flower World.
Skills
- 10 years of proven "hands on" experience in landscaping activites and skills.
- Proficient in irrigation techniques to ensure optimal water distribution for plant health.
- Knowledgeable in lawn care practices including pest control, fertilization, and seasonal maintenance.
- Experience in grounds keeping with an eye for detail in maintaining outdoor spaces.
- Familiarity with various landscaping techniques including planting, pruning, and mulching.
- Ability to build garden structures or features as required by specific projects.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members alike.
- A commitment to safety practices while working with landscaping equipment and tools.
- Oversight of landscaping team while working alongside to complete tasks.
